Following Broadcom’s recent revisions of the VMware partner ecosystem, we want to offer clarity, empathy, and reassurance that Node4 remains fully aligned and completely committed to supporting our customers and partners through this transition.
What’s Changing?
There’s been a lot of rumours around changes coming to VMware by Broadcom’s engagement model, and if you’re a customer, partner, or just trying to make sense of it all, you’re not alone… But here are the facts:
Broadcom has announced it is closing the current Broadcom Advantage Partner Program for many VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) partners on 31st October 2025.
If you’re a partner with an existing VCSP agreement, you can carry on with your current hosting contract right through until it expires on or before 31st March 2027.
From April 2027 onwards, many existing providers will no longer be able to deliver VMware services on their own hardware. We understand that this may feel unsettling, especially if you’re unsure what it means for your current customers and future plans.
But don’t worry. Node4 is one of the largest VMware Cloud providers in the UK and we’re fully aligned with Broadcom’s strategy, which means we’ll continue to be here for you – stable, trusted, and ready to guide you through the changes.
Broadcom is essentially streamlining their partner network to focus on a much smaller number of strategic providers. It’s part of their bigger plan to simplify delivery and push harder on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) adoption.
So, we’re not just staying in the program; we’re stepping up, continuing to invest heavily so you don’t have to worry about disruption or uncertainty.
What This Means for You
If you’re a Node4 Hosting or Private Cloud Client
- There will be no disruptions to your services: Node4’s VMware VCSP status will not be impacted, and our Private Cloud and VDC services are not impacted.
- You can expect continued innovation: We’re working closely with Broadcom to bring you the latest VMware capabilities, which means faster access to updates, early insight into roadmap changes, and tighter integration.
If you’re a Node4 White Label Partner
First of all, we get it… These changes will cause disruption to your operations, and we will do our best to support you.
Here are the facts you need to know:
- You can continue to place capacity orders or make changes up until 31st October 2025.
- Unfortunately, we won’t be able to renew your White Label Agreement at its end date.
- But – and this is important – you’re part of the Node4 family and we truly value that, so our team is already working on a range of solutions to help you navigate this transition.
If you’re not a current Node4 partner, we want to make sure you have all the information available to make the best decision to avoid disruption and find the best way forward for your business.
So, don’t be afraid to register for our Partner Briefing and ask any questions you have.
We’re not leaving you to figure this out alone!
We’re hosting a dedicated Briefing for Channel Partners on Thursday 24th July at 2 pm to walk through what this means, what’s changing, and what your options are. You’ll hear directly from Dave Funnell, Broadcom’s Head of Cloud Provider Sales, about the changes, and from Andrew Slater, Node4’s Technology & Innovation Director, about how Node4 will make the transition as seamless as possible for our partners.
In practical terms, this means:
- White Label and other hosting providers will lose the ability to deliver hosting services using VMware technologies on their hardware from 31/3/27.
- Clients tied to less established partners may soon need to find a new home.
- Strategic partners (like us) are in a strong position to offer continuity, capability, and confidence.
Our Take: Why it’s Happening and What it Signals
Broadcom’s approach is clear; they want a smaller, more focused partner ecosystem – one that’s tightly aligned with VCF adoption and long-term enterprise strategy.
In practical terms, this means:
