The solution
Migration to Azure Using Azure Migrate
Node4 partnered with the council to execute the migration of their Windows servers to Microsoft Azure. The migration leveraged Azure Migrate to ensure a smooth transition from Capita’s data centre.
- Azure Migrate assessed the existing workloads and facilitated the migration strategy.
- Key workloads were rebuilt as Azure Virtual Machines, utilising the latest Windows Server operating system.
- Critical data was transferred using Azure Databox and secure FTP, minimising impact on daily operations while ensuring data integrity.

The migration provided several key benefits:
- Reduced Hosting Costs: The council successfully cut its infrastructure costs by moving from Capita’s data centre to Azure.
