High speed reliable connectivity is becoming increasingly important for more and more businesses. The various changes in how organisations are now expected to run have demanded an increase in bandwidth.

Ethernet connections provide cost-effective high speed, point to point circuits that are permanently connected and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The connection provides a secure link that can be used to connect to the internet, to either of the Node4 data centres or to other customer sites as part of Node4’s IP-BVN solution.

Technical Overview

Fibre based Ethernet can be used to deliver speeds ranging from 10Mb right up to 10Gb. EFM (Ethernet First Mile), which uses more cost effective copper, can deliver speeds ranging from 1Mb to 10Mb. Both options can be used to carry voice, video and data and can be QoS (Quality of Service) enabled to support delay-sensitive traffic.
